How RallyPath works.
Short answers to the questions we get. If yours is not here, email support@rallypath.app and a person will reply.
Logging a session
How do I log a session?
Tap the + button in the middle of the tab bar. Set the date, choose the session type (practice, match, or both), and fill in what you want to keep: match scores, the skills you worked on, a short reflection, coach feedback and photos. Nothing is required except the date, so a log can be one line or a full page.
Can I edit a session later?
Yes. Open the session from the Sessions tab and edit any part of it. Skills used, notes, photos and the Apple Health workout can all be changed after saving.
What counts as a match result?
Each match inside a session has a format (singles or doubles) and a result (win or loss). Review adds these up into your match record for the week, month or all time.
Apple Health
How do I bring in my watch workout?
Record your badminton session as a workout on Apple Watch (or any app that writes workouts to Apple Health). In RallyPath, while creating or editing the session, use the Apple Health workout section to attach it. RallyPath shows the workout's time on court, active and total calories, average heart rate and heart-rate range.
RallyPath says it cannot see my workouts.
Apple only lets an app know whether it asked for permission, not whether you said yes, so RallyPath checks by looking for workouts. Open the Health app, go to Sharing, then Apps and Services, choose RallyPath and make sure Workouts and Heart Rate are turned on. Then make sure the workout exists in Health for the date you are logging.
Does RallyPath write anything to Apple Health?
No. Access is read-only. RallyPath never adds, edits or deletes anything in Health.
Skills
How does the rating work?
The Skills tab groups your game into five areas: Serve & Return, Net Play, Mid Court, Rear Court and Footwork. Inside each area, rate a skill from 1 to 5 and add a note if you like. Every rating is kept, so the dashboard can show your overall level, how many skills you have rated and which ones moved up since your last evaluation.
What is the star on a skill?
It marks a skill as in focus, the ones you are working on right now. Focused skills are counted on the dashboard so you can see them at a glance.
Should I rate everything at once?
No need. Rate what you have an opinion on after a session and leave the rest unrated. The counts on the dashboard show how much of your game you have covered.
Review
What does Review show?
Pick Week, Month or All Time. Review adds up your sessions and court time, your Apple Health totals (calories, average and maximum heart rate), your training mix (practice, match, or both), your match results and the skills you trained most in that period.
Why are some numbers missing?
Review only shows what you have logged. Court time and heart rate come from attached Apple Health workouts; match results come from matches you entered; skills trained come from the skills you tagged on sessions.
Sharing
How do I share a session?
Open the session and tap Share your progress. Choose a Card (a finished image) or a Sticker (transparent, for placing over your own photo or video in Instagram Stories and similar apps), pick the Performance, Result or Minimal layout, then share or save it.
Where does the sticker go?
Save it to Photos, then add it as a sticker or image on top of your own photo or clip in the app you are posting from. RallyPath does not post anything itself.
Backup and moving to a new phone
How do I back up?
Settings, then Data, then export a backup. RallyPath writes one file containing every session, photo, rating and your profile. Save it to Files or iCloud Drive, or AirDrop it to your computer. Settings shows when your last backup was made.
How do I restore?
Install RallyPath on the new phone, go to Settings, then Data, and import the backup file. Your sessions, photos and ratings come back exactly as they were.
Is my data in iCloud?
Not by RallyPath. The app keeps everything on the device. Your phone's own iCloud backup may include it, depending on your Apple settings.
Appearance and settings
Light or dark?
Settings, then Appearance: follow the system, or force light or dark.
How do I delete everything?
Settings, then Delete All Data, in the Danger Zone at the bottom. It removes every session, photo and your profile from the phone and cannot be undone, so export a backup first if you might want the data back.
Privacy
Where is my data?
On your phone. There is no account and no server. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
